APR Scholarships

The Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) Jacksonville Chapter is dedicated to investing in the development and continuing education of its members. To provide the opportunity for professional growth, in the form of accreditation, the FPRA Jacksonville Chapter endeavors to award two (2) Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) Scholarships to assist two (2) chapter members (one scholarship per member) interested in pursuing their accreditation from the Universal Accreditation Board (UAB) during each FPRA fiscal year. The FPRA Jacksonville fiscal year starts on September 1 and ends on August 30. Achieving your APR is considered both a personal and professional achievement, and the FPRA Jacksonville Chapter is here to assist you in refining your skills and developing the knowledge needed to pursue accreditation.

FPRA Jacksonville APR Scholarship Requirements:

The following requirements include recommendations from the UAB for the APR examination application, which is submitted before an applicant can pursue their accreditation.

  • Must be a current FPRA Jacksonville member in good standing.
  • Must have five (5) or more years of full-time professional experience or teaching in public relations or communication-specific related fields. Specific fields are listed on the APR application.
  • Following acceptance from the UAB, applicant must take the APR computer-based examination within one (1) year of application.
  • Applicant must provide resume with FPRA Jacksonville APR Scholarship application.

FPRA Jacksonville APR Scholarship Deadlines:

  • Completed FPRA Jacksonville APR Applications are being accepted until Friday, December 3 at 11:59 p.m. and must be submitted by email to FPRAJax@gmail.com.
  • Scholarship applicants will be notified by December 17, 2021.
  • FPRA Jacksonville APR scholarship recipient must complete the Examination for Accreditation in Public Relations Application, provided by the UAB, before July 1, 2022.
  • Once scholarship recipient is approved by the UAB to move forward with his/her examinations, the scholarship recipient has one (1) year from the approval date to complete the full APR process.

CPRC Scholarships

The FPRA Jacksonville Chapter has always focused on investing in its members, and this year we wanted to “transform” our efforts and bring you “excellence” in programs and support, to guide your future in public relations. The scholarship will fully cover the cost of the CPRC application charge. The cost is a single payment of $250, due with the completion of the CPRC application provided by the state FPRA office. Although the application deadline for the 2020-2021 FPRA fiscal year has passed, you can download the application in order to review the criteria in preparation for a 2022 application.

Annual Conference Scholarships

Each year the FPRA Jacksonville Chapter provides a FPRA State Conference Scholarship to one (1) member and one (1) student member. Once information is provided for the 2022 Annual Conference we will provide additional details about our annual conference scholarship.

LeadershipFPRA Scholarship

LeadershipFPRA provides FPRA members with the tools needed to become stronger leaders in their organizations, their communities and FPRA. The state program consists of an orientation and five full-day sessions, which are spread throughout the year. Regardless of how new you are to the business, or how long you may have practiced, this program will help you hone leadership skills good for a lifetime.

Class size is limited to 21, making the application process competitive. The FPRA Jacksonville Chapter annually awards a scholarship in the summer to help offset the cost of the $750 tuition.
